With a tip of the hat to you know who, the Texas Flood set will heat up any Stratocaster - perfect for blues and rock. The increased power of this vintage hot set delivers more volume and midrange, helping you get that driving Texas tone with less picking effort and using thinner strings.
The Texas Floods retain just enough of the traditional Strat character, so while they're bright and powerful they're still musical and never harsh. There's a great upper midrange bite when overdriven and plenty of classic glassy strat tone clean. A good choice for rock and blues and players who need a louder Strat.
Works Well With
Works well in either maple or rosewood board Strats with ash or alder bodies. Bare in mind that If you play with heavy strings or pick hard the ’67 Specials or Sweet '62s are a better choice for the genuine Texas tone. The high output and strong midrange matches humbuckers well, try any from the Hot P.A.F through to the Black Label.
